More heat you make to a point the more power you have. Castor will protect for a few more seconds when you're past the point of most synthetics protection.

Ive been running saber pro in my heavily modded bijes quads and skis. Thinking of switching to. Mystic sea and snow and only run one oil. Ive used it of and on for years no issues. And i an a tune on the ragged edge kinda guy

That's true, but it will varnish like hell once you get it hot. The varnish is the reason that it protects against stocking better than synthetics.
The problem is this varnish tends to plug up ring grooves, foul plugs, etc.
FWIW most of the "castor" run now days is actually a blend with maybe 20% castor.
I'm running a home brew of 20" Benol and 80% R50 in my bike with great results thus far. Approaching 60 hours right now.

Been using name brand dino oil mixed at 36:1 with a healthy dose of fuel stabilizer in all my machines for years with good results other than the spark plugs get a little crusty after awhile. Decided to try VP so I mixed up a gallon at the same ratio with fuel stabilizer for an even comparison. I have to admit, I don't like how transparent and thin this stuff appears even though I know that is hardly an indicator of how well it works. We shall see I 'spose.

Nothing wrong with Stihl oil Bryan. I ran it over 20 years in my 029. Both red and silver bottles. Piston and cylinder look like new. And that was at 50:1. [emoji32]

Mix anything with the bar oil during winter so it'll flow better? We don't have much of a winter down this way.
Doesn't get that cold here ,the heat off the muffler seems to be enough to warm the oil .if running an aux oiler milling ,i will run winter bar oil in it only no matter what time of year it is so it gravity feeds easier .

Never saw winter bar oil. Might be a good choice if I'm cutting stumps.

It definitely slobers out there good. I use it all year long on my Stihls so they can oil a bar proper. And use regular in the huskys cause you know the fugging leak out when just setting there.

It seemed that 'farm boss' type (plastic case) saws are at a disadvantage here. My MS310 never warmed up enough to really loosen the bar oil up when it was 0 outside. Mag case saws seem to transfer the heat from the jug and muffler better, and I have less of a problem in the cold.
