This one in Natchitoches carries nothing but Supertech. I keep looking everytime Im there thinkin they may have gotten some in. How much was it?

The bigger quantity with the measuring part on the top was like $7.50 at the beginning of summer. I need to go get some more before winter comes.

What'd 6 gallons of RA cost you? I called my local echo dealer to get pricing on red armor in a larger quantity like that. They called me back three times to try to understand what I wanted, then never called with a price... :(

This cost me $12 at my Home Depot.

It makes six gallons of mix. I didn't purchase six gallons of oil.

I was running red armor 40:1, now 32:1 and like it better.
I got two jugs of mix the 32:1 for saws and 40 for trimmer and blower. Everything is happy!

I can get it 3 bucks cheaper at the stealership lol. They started selling Echo this yeah. And there parts counter is the *s-word!

You stinkin bastages !!
I hate this thread !!

I saw bottle like that at HD and when I did "math" I think it came out to 40:1 for 4 gallons? I probably wrong but I'll double check today .

Oh I know, I just don't go threw that much. A gallon of oil would last me a few years for sure.

Me neither but my mighty crapsman push mower was running some 32:1 yesterday almost smelt like a LB. Ah the memories!

So whats your pick these days? Seems the RA ran pretty well for u?

more questions than answers really.

past 4 take downs (schaeffers full syn, red armor, yamalube 2r, 800 off road) on the 661 I did, all ran a very open 3x port muffler and all were very very clean inside. All were running .404 28 or 36". So maybe cooler running leaves less deposits. But all were great oils as well. So I don't know.

At this point after everything I've done. The only way I see figuring anything out is to do timed cuts in the the big oak cant (tied together) using a thermal couple. I've spent a lot of time and money figuring out the right bar and chain combination to use and have my consistency to with in 0 to .2 seconds per 40 second cut. I did 4 cuts the other day with in .1 sec.

Do different ratios. Everything on the same day. New chains. Thermal couple. Video the cuts and the thermal couple the whole time. See how times play out and how the temps rise, fall, avg temp, and max temp.

@tree monkey and I ran the thermal couple with honda and 800 looking at the ignition temp. That was very interesting how they both acted.

Now since they all look about the same which oil is cheaper?

At least some in the community appreciate people taking time out of their lives to test, calculate, disassemble which although may not be necessary, gives the community a chance to see what oils are doing internally or how they r performing. Just the mention of oil pisses some people on our site off

that is what my question is. are they all good because they are good? Or are they call could because they ran with a very open muffler...and ran cool.

here is another test demonstrating this cool saw cool muffler idea.

28" bar no spark screens. 2x muff
28" bar with spark screens in 2x muff
41" bar with spark screens in 2x muff

so what is ideal though? I would think whatever is running optimal temp will also run an optimal cut time.
heat= power and complete combustion allows the most power instead of hindering it. Do different oils do a better job at this in our applications? I think most definetely
