One tiny scratch? Seriously?
Looks like it had something in the case from being tore down or ported.

What would be in a oil that would cause a scratch?
What oil will stop a peice of whatever from scratching?

Does dumonde eat trash?
Dont think I have a saw that doesnt have scratches, carbon:eek::D smears, rubs, etc!!!

Redbull: Do you think maybe running your saw in the cold weather may have had anything to do with it? Was it warm when you ran the Dumonde? Just thinking outloud.
Very interesting results.

I've mentioned in earlier comments on this thread about klotz benol being a good oil to use. At that time I had only ever ran it in high compression race saws but I've come back to say that I would not recommend it at all if you're running a regular work saw. I imagine a leaner ratio may help but still...a work saw shouldn't have that much carbon build up after ten cuts.

What makes hp2 the best oil u have used?

It tunes easy, doesn't stink, burned clean, smooth idle, crisp throttle response, lubed well even at 40:1. But those were in my saws with my tune or AT and my opinions YMMV. Everyone is different.

You might not like it idk and might get the same results with RA.

I used hp2 in alota dirtbikes but in my mtronic saw it made a gooey mess on top of the piston but I never tried it at 40to1 but only 32to1

that is the exhaust side. dumonde left, red armor right.

could be? I dunno. Like I said. These are observations. I'd reserve judgement until I saw it happen again.

Looking at the #s though...
red armor viscosity - 10.3 @ 100c
honda hp2 - 17.9
dumonde - no one knows.

but what about viscosity break down? Maybe 10 is sufficient. But maybe the viscosity was breaking down with the load I was putting on the saw? I dunno.

all i can tell ya is it didn't happen with dumonde. and I haven't seen it happen with honda hp2...MULTIPLE TIMES with hp2.
Those scratches are caused by particles passing the filter or in this case particles that got into the motor while pulling down.
