Used to run that super techniplate in my banshee at 20:1 and it was great. Tried some at 50:1 in my ope and it wasn't so great. Muff screens got plugged with carbon if memory serves. I thought about trying that Honda oil but it's for rich folks.

Little warning on that xp oil, stinks to high heaven, at least it did for me. Couldn't stand it.

Really liking your testing Isaac, hats off to you. Most of us really appreciate you being the "guinea pig" lol
started running amsoil saber 32:1 on a new 661. We'll see what it looks like after a few gallons or so.

and got some more oil to test! Still can't find any original techniplate in a quart.

If mobil was on the shelf like rp and valvoline is here I'd run it.
I always liked there motor oil
What valvoline are you using? I saw two types of Valvoline two cycle oil today while at Menards. Both, like RP are boat/marine oil.

Can't imagine why they don't sell it here in the states. It's on their website but I believe it's only available abroad.
I can't find any fault with it.
Because the two cycle motor cycle market took a nose dive 10 years ago. Yamaha still sells a 80,125 and 250 two stroke, KTM has a full line of two strokes, Honda sells none, Kawi sell an 80 and Suzuki sells an 80. 10 years ago they all had full lines of two stroke bikes.

Not sure,it's in a blue bottle.
Why would 3 different oils that say nothing about being boat oil on them be boat oil?
I don't care if it's lamp oil, I've ran both with good results.

Do a little research and you shall see. the MSDS for RP actually mentions the current name and the old name which was RP TCW3.
Why not use boat oil? Because it's bad for an aircooled two stroke and there is plenty of documentation on the Internet that says this as well and explains in detail why. In addition both Stihl and Husky say don't use it. Really the question is, why use it?

They reccomend that you use their oil. They tell you not to use marine oils. A bit of a differance.

That would depend on where you live?

I maintain a bunch of saws for 2 logging companies and they run the blue Walmart oil and it is very good.
If you talking about the walmart tcw3 stuff I question if you know what to look for. That stuff is god awful.

How many saws do you have apart in a week's time?
I'd venture to say I've had more apart than you have ever seen.
All you do is tell everyone there wrong,I've asked several times what oil i should be using and never have got a answer. So what is this mythical oil i need to tell my customers to use?

I think some are paying a bit too much attention to what an msds sheet says about an oil or what someone told us about an oil. There is absolutely nothing wrong with supertech tcw3 in a sled or a 50hp merc. I've used 8 gallons of that stuff every year for the last 25 years without failure. We should start posting personal knowledge as fact instead of what an article read.
