Did u see the oil on side of that piston? Thats not speculation but a fact? Either its there or its not and its alot less with other oils. It was so much that I pulled back to 42to1
Way go to 42:1 if you're looking for maximum lubrication in the lower end? Performance lowered? To much buildup of deposits?

More oil thans needed in my opinion with kl200 at 32to1 in a saw. Probably run 50to1 easily. I think 42to1 will be a happy medium with performance and protection

So unfortunately back to back Dyno tests when changing things with these saws are inconclusive. Ron did you retune your saw between tests?
I didn't retune since the rpms were so close and both cleaned-up well in the cut. A retune may have ended in a different conclusion.

Detonation because of the longer stroke and time . Something we dont have on a saw
You can theorize all day. Testing, like you did previous, will give you an answer. Wasn't 87 the slowest in your ported 362?

I just talk with a guy with a Nova with 468 Stroker with 11:1 ratio. 500+hp. Said his car ran best on 91 octane and would run on 89
If it's not pinging on 89, then timing was prob set with 91 and it will run better because it's set up that way. But I'm thinking it wouldn't like the 89 with the compression that motor has...

Those wash marks just past the squish are barely there

The crown in fully coated with carbon, except slight transferr wash marks

The fuels evaporation curve plays a huge role in the power produced. VP SEF is formulated to start evaporating early and be fully evaporated by 200f (IIRC). Other fuels get fully evaporated at 350f ......... And a few were above 450f

No matter what the octane, that 450f fuel wont make the power the 200f fuel will in OPE
Very interesting...[emoji106]

Test performance with several timed cuts by comparing 32:1 vs 42:1 vs 50:1. That will answer your question.

Goggle octane ratings and what compression ratio is needed to require high octane fuel. Next we dont have a clue what our compression ratio is in these saws to be able to use a chart

Why would "to much" oil in the lower-end not be beneficial? And, what is "to much" oil? I understand if you're seeing a dry lower-end isn't good.

Don't make it complicated. Test in wood for your answer.

Pooling in the bottom and getting fuel in the bottom will start washing the bearings instead of lubricating and also too much may create drag

Your theory or someone else? Test 32:1 vs 42:1 and see if 32:1 is slower by creating drag.

He is gonna tell u the same as everyone else . Low octane= more power, klotz is some of the best oil he has used, and there is suppose to be carbon on the piston!!!:cunaooooo:
Why was 87 the slowest in your and Redbull's test? Define "best"?
