Are you having issues with reading and comprehension? 87 was the slowest. That's all I'm saying.
You keep pushing this test Ron, but you admitted it was flawed and we need to find out how long mtronic saws need to recalibrate to do the test properly.
You need to open your mind...

I'm not sure how long they ran their saws on each octane before cutting. Do we know what "long enough" is?

We definitely need a whole lot more testing to conclude our test. I made 4 cuts each octane. How many did u make? 3,4? We wasted our time
I don't think it was a waste of time. I agree with more tests especially if you're interested in cant racing. Your hybrid would be a good one for testing.....oils, fuels, and chains.

This is the recalibration procedure as far as I know.

1. With the chain brake engaged…
a. Hold throttle and set start lever to Start position (Δ)
b. Start saw and let idle in Start position (Δ) for 90 seconds
c. Blip throttle to bring the machine to the Run position (I)
d. Immediately move lever to Stop position (O)
e. This will reset the carb to original factory setting.

2. With the chain brake engaged…
a. Hold throttle and set start lever to Start position (Δ)
b. Start saw then Blip throttle to bring the machine to the Run position (I)
c. Let idle in Run position (I) for 90 seconds
d. Immediately move lever to Stop position (O)
e. This will calibrate the idling characteristics of the saw.

3. With the chain brake engaged…
a. Hold throttle and set start lever to Start position (Δ)
b. Start saw then Blip throttle to bring the machine to the Run position (I)
c. Disengage chain brake and make five uniform cuts through a minimum 12-inch-diameter log.
d. This will calibrate the full throttle characteristics of the saw.

Both of our test were horrible! Go watch the videos again. The cutting techniques were the worst Ive seen on both

I think bigger wood will be beneficial for timing octane and oil test. Hard to find consistent wood. Redbull probably did a good a test as humanly possible

I'll stick with my carb screw driver.

My milling cuts 87 was fastest followed by VP. 90 marine was next and 93 was slowest. The info is posted in this thread if someone cares to find it. It was 3'x1'oak squared with 404 chain on my 046.
