Wow what a find on those older cans of oil ~!~!
Somewhat true. Why does a 4 cycle car or truck produce carbon on the piston? It is if you use Motul. You're use to running Klotz....dirty. It's not the fuel that leaves deposits it's oil.
Wow!! That should clear things up alil on carbon discussionsYou can get a lot of carbon deposits in a 4 cycle also not just 2 cycles and plus i find any 2 stroke ran with klotz looks better than 4 cycle running stardard pump gas.
and there are oils out there that are 10x dirtier burning than klotz its called stihl oil.
here is a 4 cyl 4 cycle fuel injected engine for comparison.

Ive heard that before tooa cup of water down the carb while rpm's are up a little at a time is how i was taught by an old timer to de-carbon the pistons
Three tanksI just put a new piston in my 064, how long should it take to get a decent wash?
5 or 6 tanksI just put a new piston in my 064, how long should it take to get a decent wash?
I hope my Chevy 350 doesn't look like that.....it's still going. Valvoline 10W-40.Wow!! That should clear things up alil on carbon discussions
Tune looks good.after about 1.5 gallons of gas mixed with Mobil 1 2t racing (red colored) 32:1
this muffler has been used on other 661s I have so the inside really can't show. But the cover was pretty clean.
spark plug
Jug - the brown is not build up, it's oil that can be wiped away. The jug is very very clean.
Tree Monkey photo bombing my picture!
Piston and crank - plenty of oil on the skirts. Good coating on the crank etc. Clean. Oil puddling inside those trox heads.
I'm curious to see the "timed cuts" from Redbull's oil tests. Proper lubrication in the lower-end is probably the most important criteria no matter what brand of oil you're using. It is cleaner than super or 927 in a firewood saw. Cleanest is my lowest priority for picking oil. Fastest and happiest saw are top.
If you're not experiencing any engine malfunctions due to the type and quantity of oil you're using, I'd say it's a good oil. No matter what the piston crown looks like.Never had any problems from gas and oil. I don't keep track of how long a saw last but I'd say 2 or 3 years if it's taken care of.
