Good thought.
I checked it, & seems okay to me.

I'm thinking woodmizer sent me a bunch of blades with bad set.....I found some blades I bought further back, and they're cutting just dandy.
All the new ones are diving even though my blade guides are tilted up slightly.... these older blades I'm running right now are climbing a tiny amount just like I'd expect with how my guides are set currently....and I'm not getting any chatter.

Anyways, I ordered a blade setter today so I'll check the offending blades when it gets here and see what's up.... I'm betting they're outta whack.
Sounds right in terms of the quality we are getting these days.

My day is metal filled. I expect it a little when cutting cedar logs, but deck screws destroy a blade. 2-3" in no indication. 2 blades in do I go for a third or put it on the trash pile?

What did you get for a setter? I have a cat claw dual tooth. I like it but it hurt to buy.

I ordered the woodland Mills RS30 PRO grinder & setter combo.
I think the grinder will be fine....the setter is kinda cheesy imo, but we'll see what happens.
I really wanted to buy the cooks equipment but my budget won't allow it right now.
I figured I'd try this other setup and if it works, great.... if not, I'll sell it and invest in the cooks.

Deck screws screw blades, no doubt about it....

Few pics of the setter.

Got er mounted to my redneck deluxe work bench....
It doesn't come with any kind of supports/guides for the blade so I'll have to invent something for that..

Did you buy the setter separately? Mind taking a pic of the digital depth gauge thingy from above? I havent made one yet.

Okay, mod #2.....

(Poor pics cause it's getting dark)

The profile cam for the woodmizer blades needed some filing.
Pic #1 shows an inconsistent /stupid gullet profile.......pic #4 is the offending bump, (the woodmizer cam bump was even more pronounced)

A few times of talking it off and filing it to a more smooth arc resulted in pic #5....not a real big deal, but definitely necessary to get a good smooth profile.

The cams appear to be stainless steel, and to have been CNC plasma cut with no grinding, so a bit of touch up required....imo.

In the end it's following the woodmizer factory profile quite well.

I think all the cams will need a bit of fine tuning.

No grinding today, but I ran my first resharpened blade sawing oak. It's cut a bit over 400 bf and is still going nice and straight......must've done an okay job grinding it, I guess....
At this point it's preformed about as well as any new blade I've run.IMG_20231122_165826.jpg
