So, what's the difference between the 4910 and the 4920? Actual improvement? I'm just starting down the path with my 4910, like it so far after a couple tanks but haven't made any mods as yet.
Different design. 4910 is US-only cheaper version of 501p (plastic handle, different coil, no captive bar nuts). 4920 is new farm clam-shell chainsaw - strongest in the farm line 3510-4010-4510-4920.

Since we're on the 501/4910 topic....Anyone run one of these custom aftermarket 3d printed filter setups? Curious how well they filter, and if airflow is as good or better than stock. It uses cs400 filters...they're about 1/2 or 1/3 the cost of the 490/500/501/4910 filters. Perhaps cheaper in the long run.

I have one to test out, waiting on a few more parts to show up for the saw.

Fleabay seller McHenry Power Equipment often has Echoes on closeout. I got my CS-500P for $250.00 shipped when the 501 came out, also bought a TCS-210 tiller from them.

Bryanr2,
Glad you're doing better. I run a 4910 for clear cutting. Nice, nimble limbing saw. Even muffler modded, it won't have the power of your old echo cs 520 and won't be as tough as the cs 520/530 or your old 261. Many components are extremely thin on the 4910/501p to make it that light weight:

Paper thin/hollowed av bushings, they tear easily
Tin can muffler dents easy
Plastics half as thick as the plastics of your cs 520
Clutch cover extremely flimsy.
The plastics fade purdy quick compared to older kioritz plastic.

GREAT warranty. Echo just sent me a 5 pack of av bushings, to replace them myself if I ever have another one go bad. Just one call, and they send me parts free of charge.

I run a versacut aluminum core bar and lgx chain on mine, affordable set-up.

🤣🤣 It is a rather bulky looking setup compared to stock.

That was just a screenshot from evilbay.
I’m definitely curious about that setup. The additional weight and bulk are downsides. 4910/501p are feather light. That’s the big appeal vs 261/550/346/5100.

And price tag of course. I have to say, they’re extremely easy to disassemble/reassemble as well.
