Life has been lifey. Working too much for aspluhnd/utility, dads dementia and passing/moving mom into retirement home/ clearing out old house for renters. Quit the utility job for a normal one handed tree trimming outfit that works 4-10s so back to having a life. Although the side jobs are already stacking up. And I got 3k linear feet of fresh redwood 2x6 from my last job for my new deck. And 6 saws in pieces for porting, but you know, i like to stay busy.*&^$$ you been?!

This is an interesting thread, but I'm not too sure that I'm buying the idea that the OP is a tree care professional. No tree pro I've ever met in the last 30 years would ever take the time to clean and perform maintenance on a saw. Who are you kidding?
I talked to a tree service owner they have several 2511s for a few year's nowHere’s some discussion of the 2511t I’ve been using at work for the last 4 years. I did minimal mods to it before putting it into service. Hopefully it gives people an idea of how these saws hold up over time.
Fair warning, there aren’t going to be many pretty pictures in this thread. Lots of chainsaw funk.
I’ve stripped this saw down to the block about once per year and cleaned it.

Obviously it needs it again.

That’s probably the 4th or 5th tank vent and this one is shot. I wish they lasted longer.

Same deal on the caps. That’s at least the third pair. I have had the oil cap pop off in the tree many times. The keeper gets into the threads easily and gets cut. This oil cap is leaking.
I've never wanted a clone saw till this. I'd set one of these up for a 1/4p pruning saw, simple BGD/exhaust/AF mod and it'd be plenty for fruit trees and ornamentals. He'll if it broke down and blew up in the tree, i'd have a hand saw and i wouldnt cry at that price. Don't have FB, any info on when that would come out?I talked to a tree service owner they have several 2511s for a few year's now
The most reliable top handle they've had he was telling me.
I was surprised to see neotec is making 2511 clones that's the newest saw I've seen them copy.View attachment 411628
Are there any good progressive depth gauges available in the quarter pitch platform? I thus far have a pole saw with a quarter pitch chain, looking what worked for you guys should I expand my collection.
