Yea, I've read that Maples also hybridize, and I've had some that really stumped me. A Black Maple leaf looks more like a Red Maple leaf, but the wood is harder than Sugar Maple. So, if a Black crosses with a Red … ??? AAAAHHHHH!!!! FYI, gym floors and bowling alley floors are generally made from Black Maple.

We also have a lot of Norway Maples around here, choking out the Sugar Maples in their normal range. No doubt it is due to our proximity to NYC. (They planted Norway's in NYC because they were supposed to be blight resistant, and then they got hit with a blight!)

Norway is pretty invasive here

Nice job!
I'd be more happy if that 24' header didnt have a heavy hook in it about 6-8' from the end...
It will work well for what it is. The header is 4x10, 24' long. The one vertical post is 5x12 and the other end will be about 5x10. I'm going to stain it with used motor oil. Thanks

The epoxy in this shell/rock table is an 1 1/2 deep. I did it in four coats.

Here's a pic of the bow. Not exactly sure how I'll deal with that. I have some cable, a turnbuckle and an idea so we'll see what happens.
