Cold carbon score.???

Piston expanded quicker than the jug carbon took up the space the piston normally had. ?

My uneducated guess. but I called Dibz weeks ago...

Dull chain and cheap TCW-3.
I've seen deposits like that before, similar piston damage too
They buy the cheapest gallon of 2 cycle from Pep Boys/O'Reilleys ............... in my parts, its PEAK TCW-3

This I don't doubt. I asked about his oil and got a quick response about how expensive some were and he wasn't buying special oil... I just dropped it. He has a 4 door 4wd Dodge with Cummins, 4500 4 door Cummins chip truck, F750 Log truck, etc... but those extra few dollars on oil will kill him.

Yes you will.. cleaning the outside up before I go deeper.

Tear it down to the crank.

I always do. It's easier to know what you are working with . I've never just pulled seals and done a top end. That far you should split it in my opinion. I also have never done a vac test...I tried a few times early on but poor equipment was.. well.. poor. I have recently purchased a Mity Vac 8500 and will do a pressure and vac test on this one. I've always been meticulous and it's paid off/been lucky.

Yep.......I remember that one. I think it was a piece of the mesh screen I use.

It was a customers saw......and is long gone now.

Jimmy, order these from your Stihl dealer. They're about 10 bucks apiece and work on other saws.
