Glad you went first.

I'll take .025. LOL

Actual work meetings are done now, so I may go fire up the tig welder and fix this. Then its back to the struggle of getting the intake ground on so it lets the jug sit flat, I'm still figuring out the spots that need to be tickled.

Show me on the doll where the tickling takes place.

Welds aren’t as clean as they could be, I didn’t have any 1/16” filler here and I was struggling to get 3/32” to wick in at the low amps.

You know it! I'll weld them both later today.

I took 0.050" from the squish and 0.053" from the base, they must be on the edge to begin with.
Where do you think it becomes an issue? I took .040” from the squish and eliminated the gasket. So that makes about a .025” difference

I didn't notice this until after I cut the base so it's hard to say when you'll get into trouble. Obviously eliminating the gasket will gain some room but I like to use the gasket when the OEM one is as nice as these 5 series ones.

It is a nice gasket, I just don’t like to cut the base anymore than I have to after having a couple break

So, that glob of weld will not touch the case or be in the way at all?

Which ones broke?
