I went to the Badger Steam and Gas show over the weekend in Baraboo, WI. McCulloch saws were well represented.

Bobby Framke brought several of his special paint jobs.

McCulloch saws had the best times in the two man (940, 99), gear drive (under 5 In2 BP-1, over 5 In3 1-86), and did very well in of the direct drive demonstrations.

I had a bit of a conundrum with a 10-10S clutch issue over the last coupler days.My son took the saw out last week to cut an oak that had fallen into the farmer's field,& when he put the chain to the log it stopped. That told me there was a clutch issue.I pulled the clutch & put on one that I got in a parts lot,put the saw back together, fired it up & the chain ran non-stop.I had to pull it apart again today to find out that I must've overtightened the clutch, the spider was broken.I pulled a clutch off a non-running PM610 & put that on the saw.I noticed that as I turned the drum that the clutch was also turning.I put the drum & clutch on from the PM 610 & all was good.I noticed a wobble in the original drum & figured that something had warped it.The drum wasn't blued from overheating,so I have no idea as to what happened to it.

I got around to deleting the points on my Pro 10-10A yesterday. I also shaved the flywheel key and advanced the flywheel 1/4" at the OD (probably need to go more yet). Then I went out to cut some firewood with it. When you are used to higher strung Stihl & Husky saws like I am, this thing sounded slow but still managed to make quick work of the log pile. The saw definitely holds more rpm with the only change being the chip and timing advance.

Yeah 11,000 doesn't seem as fast as a modern saw , but it holds the torque.

Traded a Briggs engine to @Stump Shot today for this, something that has been on my bucket list a long time. This was the best I've had it running, gotta run some more fresh fuel thru it. The wiring seems messed up with the leather peice that is where the handle would be on the saw. And I doubt the straight pipe is factory as I've only seen the saws with mufflers. Brushcutter throttle needs attention too. Overall I'm very happy to have this unit in the collection. Thanks Steve.

Mark got me inspired to do something with the McCullochs in the collection, so I got them all out, culled the rough duplicates and parts saws out, cleaned up the rest and displayed them together.

I took pictures of each saw, recorded the serial number and model number if present, got the years of manufacture from Mike Acres list, and made a file for inventory purposes, and I will print it and put it in a binder on the shelf with the saws. Need to do this for the other 450+ saws in the collection now...
Thanks a lot Mark!

I got this latest PM 10-10 last weekend. The recoil was seized on it so I took it apart & cleaned it up the best I could. It'll only pull out about a foot, which is not aceptable.I ended up putting another recoil on it "just to check for spark".The saw fiored,so I checked the fuel filter & it looked good.I added fuel to the tank & it was running in no time.I think I need to replace the fuel line because it seems that each time I fire up the saw it ends up with fuel in the air box.I did some carb adjustments & it runs great. It came with a 20 in.bar, but I ended up putting a 16 in.on it.

On my Pro 10-10, the gas tank leaks into the carb box. I pulled the top of the tank, removed the old cork gasket and installed a proline gasket. Unfortunately it still leaks. Any of you guys run into this and have a fix?
