She’s not much but she’s mine.☹️
We all started with one. It's a compulsion, then an obsession, that leads to an addiction. Next thing you know your wife is asking "why is there a tractor trailer coming up our driveway?" When that time comes just look dumb and mumble incoherently. Trust me on this.

So yesterday was a bitter sweet day. Kirk, the builder of MacHalla, one of guys who helped me pack and move Bob Johnson's parts pasted away in February unexpectedly. His wife asked me to come get his saws. Alan and I rode over and got them. Many of the saws here I built, Alan built, or we helped Kirk build. He didn't own a McCulloch until fall of 2022. He was working on a great collection. Like I said bitter sweet.

That is a bummer to hear about Kikr, looks like he got the McCulloch bug pretty bad. Looks to be a few fun projects in the pile!!

Gave up on the hl 63F , couldn’t stop the leaks. Using a 87DT no choke. Saw working as it should. Would 1-86 wrap fit the 797, if we get a break and not get evacuated I would like to get into wood when state of emergency is over. Big Mac stated 1-71 etc..but having a hard time finding a good 7 series set. Wrap also cut half through from chain. That’s epoxy and steel wool with a secondary pipe embedded, last attempt to find McCulloch before I approach my local machinist.

I have a wrap too that is almost cut in half from chain damage, really sucks
It does, my set with the Jerry rigged lower corner has been fine as the rest of the saw came together. But now that it’s ready for wood don’t want it to come undone in my hand.

Sloa - the "7" saws are direct drive and the "8" saws are gear drive, I don't think the handle bars will interchange.

Copper tubing also works for a splint on a damaged handle.

That is good to know and see in practice. Stuffed pipe with steel wool and epoxy for rigidity but still left me feeling uneasy if it buckled in wood. Thanks Mark.

I have a few items that I will never use and one of you may have need. Sp 125 standard rings ,thick rings standard 2.28, mystery handle and a cover from a 1-71.

I went ahead and put a D-44 together using a few cracked or broken parts (crankcase cover, starter cover, starter base). New rings, seals, and gaskets, new gaskets & diaphragms in the carburetor, replaced the fuel line. I had to sandblast the fuel tank top to get rid of some heavy deposits.

In the end I have another runner. Not sure what I am going to do with it, I have a relatively nice clean one in the display already.

Here's another PM 610 that I got cheap & put together & got it running. It needed the rear throttle handle & air box assembly,a new ignition module,& a new switch. All I had to put on it for a bar & chain was a 16 in.thaty I had on hand.It also needed an oiler push rod & a new oil pump diaphragm.I also put a newer style brake/clutch cover on it that came off a Timber Bear.
