I am not happy that I don't have a McCulloch yet to match those.
You and I both my friend :) not sure if I ever will or not but at least I can make stuff for the guys that do.

Cool idea on the formed plate. let me know if you ever get that to work for you....

A bad ass gear drive would be so cool.

It's not hard to do and I think you can use the existing motor mounts. You might need to set-up some 10-28 nuts in the 101 crankcase
just under the intake manifold area. @heimannm would be able to get you the dirty details on it. You would likely need to trench a hole
for the manual oiler rod.

I have another 101 to build for a friend. This one will be a race saw.....so I need help. Mark tells be that I need to be thinking about a custom intake.....and a big HL.

There's some options for intakes. Mac makes a sloper that can mount one of the big BDC carbs, a WB (like on one of @Bigmac 's saws) or a large Mikuni. The Reed 458 sloper will mount a Tilly HL, and there's some good options there. Nathan @Bigmac has some custom low-profile slopers that will work with several carburetors. There's also some straight-shot type intakes. I have quite a few different things I can post pictures of.

I've got good help in the shop now. We do a lot of saws....so I can sorta get back into some stuff I find interesting now. Im looking forward to seeing what can be done with a McCullough.

If you’re wanting to do a race, saw, my manifold is more meant for a full airbox style, I would probably use at least a V6 rreed cage and personally would run a jet ski carburetor. The McCulloch port layout is excellent, adding some sub exhaust ports is a good idea if you’re looking for max power, also if you’re looking for max power, I would definitely run a billet rod. Kinda just depends how crazy you’re gonna wanna go! If you’re planning on running a pipe on it or not. If you’re looking for stock appearing or not all of those things, kinda change the build.

I have a race saw to do for a friend, and a stock appearing saw for myself. His will be piped.
