Not the first, but a early one.Yeah Mac 15 if I'm not mistaken is the first McCulloch.

He should get two....cause he is going to need parts....If your son is interested in getting into the yellow&blackers get him a 10-10.
10’s are the strongest of the series,There are a few 10-10s within an hours drive as well. What have I done? I blame @heimannm and the other two that were there!
Welcome, Max , Machalla lolJust made a profile here, wanted to say hello.
It's to hard to chuse between right hand start and left hand start. You have to buy at least 10 of each because that's almost as many color options as mcculloch offered. He should get two....cause he is going to need parts....
The tough choice becomes....right handed pull start or left handed.
Send us some pics of them. There are a few 10-10s within an hours drive as well. What have I done? I blame @heimannm and the other two that were there!
Those saws look great. These aren’t far from me. I’ll also check a few pawn shops that seem to have older saws in town. If they aren’t Stihls or Hooskies, they tend to go CHEAP.
Of all the riged mount 10searies saws the 7-10 is my favorite. Tons of grunt and perfect balance with a 28 inch bar.McCulloch was the undisputed leader in small engine power tools for decades until they weren't .Of all models probabley the 10-10 model is the most famous having been sold for over 25 years .I'm not sure exactly how many of that model but can say they span from one of the fist to one of the last .That later which looks nearly brand new had sat in a basement for since nearly new and has the original Mac branded chisel chains it came with .Because of that it's a shelf queen in order to preserve it .Funny part was the brake had been removed because that's just what tree trimmers did years ago . I think I had replaced it but it's been a long tince I've seen it .Lost some place in one of my sheds .
Max how did you post that stick about the saws and cigars? I've wanted to post one on my profile, but I can't figure out how to.Just made a profile here, wanted to say hello.

Did you have a good trip home?If the 10-10's were in perfect running condition, $150 to $200 would be the maximum full retail price. They look O.K. from the only photos posted but I would have to look them over very closely before I paid that much for either one.
The MAC15 was McCulloch's first attempt at a "consumer" saw but is a late 60's model and not truly an early saw. They are detuned 80cc saws and not very handy to use. If you can find a 250 or better yet a Super 250, those would be saws you could actually use.
You can probably find a few 10 Series saws in the $10-$50 range that don't look so nice but can be cleaned up and repaired for less cash outlay.
You might be able to find a 250 for $25-$50 as well.

It was good to meet you.glad you had a safe trip.13 hour drive, totally uneventful. Browns won, Raiders lost but it helped pass the time.
