3/8 three rivet tips in 063 can be a tough find. Daren, I probably have a 26" Mac bar with a 404 or roller nose tip I could sell you.

FWIW I've mentioned many times it's not that hard to modify a Stihl mount bar to fit a large mount Mac or Homelite .Good used Stihl mount are not that hard to find but it's a choice the saw owner needs to make .Good large mount Homelite or Mac bars are not that easy to find.,used or NOS .Not to mention even with very little you have to do to the Stihl bars they will still work on a Stihl --if you own one .

Please explain if you don't mind. I have a 42" stihl mount bar I'd like to run on my homelite 750

2850...28" .050 gauge is what that bar on EBay is. Didn't think about what gauge this was, only assumed most old Oregon bars were .063. Good thinking Al. Well that ain't gonna cut it.

I might end up going with a shorter bar if I can't find a 32"- 36". I'll keep you in mind Don thanks. I thought that eBay bar was a 30". You ever want to unload any of your 101s though Don, I'd be on that like stink on *s-word!:neng2kb:

I'll find the pics tomorrow and post them .In the mean time look on Mike Acres site under Homelite 2100S .That's my saw with a Stihl 36" bar which also fits a Mac 125 and would fit the 795 the gent was talking about .

I got a 36" Stihl rollermatic and it does fit the 797. It ain't got no thickness in the belly for the big sprockets. Would probably be a chain throwin sumbitch

Depends on the bar perhaps .Mine I think is a Windser brand ,Stihl mount size .On the 2100S Homelite no problem and it runs an 8 pin .404 with the same driver count as an 066 Stihl .On a Mac 125 it can only handle a 7 pin because the studs evidently are slightly different so it would take one more driver to be able to use an 8 pin .

I had a 32" Stihl mount .375, 050 on a Mac 250 for a while .That one now has an 18" NOS Oregon hard nose ,050 .----try and find one of those sometime ---That far azz bar with a 8 pin uses the same driver count as a 20".375 Stihl ,72.< junk yard dawg bar swap trivia ---

Okay if I can get these pics to load,a presentantion using a Stihl bar on a Homelite which also will fit a large mount McCulloch .First pic shows the adaptors which are nothing but thick washers with 3/8" ID for the studs and whatever size the bar slot is ,can't remember ,unAmerican metric chit. The other pic shows the chain rides up a little on the heel but I've never tossed a chain .Then again this is .404 which has larger drivers and more rigid than 3/8"

Next up a Stihl 24" shown over a large Mac mount 24".The heel is wider .The oil hole might need to be elongated towards the bar slot so it aligns with the oil slot on the bar plate.Another hole will need to be installed so it aligns with the bar tightning gizmo .I did both with a Dremel and a stone ,no big deal .Last pic is "big red" along side Mac 125 .You can tell the Homey has a Windsor bar by the nose piece. All I can say is it works for me .It's an option .

You're quite welcome .

What amazes me is the price bars fetch these days, new or used .When the Chinese a couple years back tried to corner the market on scrap steel everything made of steel went through the roof and it hasn't fallen much yet .

That 36" Windsor I just had a pic of set me back 45 bucks ,new never used ten years ago and it came with new loop of .404 square ground and came from Ohio .I had to pay tax on the damned thing which annoyed me .I'd hate to venture a guess how much it would be today .

Those in the pic I made on my lathe .Kevin,Cut -for-fun made some from square nuts using a file and they worked just dandy .

Baileys at one time sold them for using Stihl bars on Huqvarnas but since I no longer patronize them I have no idea if they still carry these items .
