Yea previous owner painted it black View attachment 352319
Actually just acquired it , needs a new rim sprocket got the clutch and drum apart , but overall looks good , and very good compression, looking forward to running it, yea there supposed to run real good .probably a replacement starter ? Does that have a Tillotson carb? My 7-10 was earlier than yours and it had a Tillotson HS on it. Ran amazing too! Have you slayed any trees with it yet?

Winter's a coming.
Its ok, I have more saws.Winter's a coming.
The cranes arent the problem.Brent's too busy climbing cranes and hearding cats to worry about saws!
Id bet thats the case.It might be a possibility it has a 700 cover on it . I had to refer to Chainsaw Collectors to see a picture of a 7-10 I once owned .
Did all Mac 10-10 come with the plate that goes on either side of the chain bar at the oiler? I got a older model 10-10 that has none.
Thats a good "hack" Al.FWIW on those oil dribblers you can make a kind of a gasket from an aluminum beverage can to stop a lot of it .The bar design seems to have a lot of it depending on who made it .
