Thats amazing Mark!
Also a fully outfitted shop.
If you intend to do much work there, there must be a "dirty saw cleaning area". I use a 39 gallon garbage can and liner to scrape and blast off most of the crud into.
What are your plans? Wouldnt want bar oil crud all over that nice floor and cabinets.

I do have a few non-McCulloch saws and bars in the attic...but there are a lot of non-McCulloch saws on display up front as well. I will try to get some photos and update the Vintage Chainsaw Museum thread next week.

28" to fit my 7900 Steve, I haven't needed to use it yet but I will have it whenever the opportunity arises. I have a new 18" Tsumura bar for the 550XP hiding in there somewhere as well...at least I hope it's still there as I am not sure where else it could be.

I just got the same 28" for my 7910. Has not made it to the shop yet. Still sitting in the living room! Would like to get an 18" for my 550xp aswell.

And here is my next project after sorting out the Creamsickle for the boy and a Homie for my "adopted son".

First McCinderblock ive ever worked on. Belongs to a very good friend of my son and myself. Eric's saw is a PM650. He got it and the parts saw because the PO was just tired of it leaving greasy butt prints all over the place.
First thing it Will have to have is a teardown and degreasing, followed by finding out why it leaks SO MUCH bar oil EVERYWHERE. This thing is covered in it. He also says its temperamental, but a beast when it takes a notion to run.
Anyone have experience with these McBricks and why this one needs to wear Depends to keep from soiling everything with bar oil?View attachment 217168 View attachment 217169
Have you checked the oil tank "gasket"? They just used a sealant between the tank and the block. It used to be very common for the bolts holding the tank to loosen up and They would leak oil. Might check that.

It would be unusual if it did fit .That bar is .325 chain where as the original was 3/8" chain .

Hey gents I have a pro Mac 700 that I haven’t been able to run much and trying to start getting it some more wood time. It is a HEAVY smoker especially when first started. Is the bar and chain oil reservoir separate or could it be leaking into the case? I can lean it out more and it doesn’t matter so I don’t believe it’s tune. There’s not a mosquito for an acre when i start this saw lol.

The bar oil res can leak into crankcase. Here is a good thread by Mark H on the 10 series oil pumps https://www.arboristsite.com/community/threads/mcculloch-10-series-oiler.249620/

It's got an impulse operated piston pump oiler inside the oil tank .It's not uncommon due to the age that it will smoke after a cold start because it leaks into the crankcase .I've never had any luck rebuilding one .
Every so often, rarely a pump or rebuild kits pops up on flea bay but they are very proud of them usually .

Thank y’all very much. I’ll hope for the best I guess but I had a feeling that was the issue

Al is correct that the bar you are asking about is .325 pitch. That K095 mount (Oregon's designation) was usually listed for these Macs:

Thank you. It seemed like a good deal since is is going to hang on the wall i dont want to spend a whole poop ton on a bar but it would look so much nicer with a new mac bar.

Now that smoking oiler .I suppose if it really is a bother you could pop the end of the oil tank off and screw the piston adjustment screw all the way in to block the pump action and just use the thumb oiler .The thumb button puts out plenty of oil you just have to get used to using it .--drain the tank first though because bar oil makes a mell of a hess all over every thing .

Meh it allows for personal space when it clears anyone else around lol. Doesn’t bother me that much as long as it’s not tearing up the top end

Another way to ignore it would be to drain oil tank when you park/store it. Especially if you are not using the 700 regularly. When grab 700 to use it, put the bar oil in then. Your skeeters will stay happy too.
