Honestly I think we might be dreaming on the 50-75 prices now. A year ago that was good, now they seem to be the rarity.
@Steve had a very nice 3-10e for sale he had worked over. Not sure if he sold it or not. Might be worth reaching out to him on it. He is a solid guy, done right by me on all the purchases I have made from him.
Couldn't agree with this more about Steve. Very stand up and fair.

That is a regular 2-10 with the mac carb. That saw is specifically a collectors item and not a good reliable wood cutter. The parts for the mac carbs are non existent and if you do find parts they are expensive. You are much better getting a 10-10 as they all had a walbro SDC carb. Much more user friendly. The only drawback to the 10-10 is if it has the dome airfilter. They are quite hard to find and expensive.

If it was a super 2-10 id say go for it!

Awesome thanks for the reply.... I really want a right hand start. Maybe one day Ill get my fix with a 797. Right now I've got a PM700 which was my work saw and a power mac 6.

Edit: currently in NC but I lived outside of Charleston.

797s are getting scarce at reasonable prices. I need to get my right hand start going. Supposedly it is a 10-10 lightweight, but haven't looked up any numbers on it to verify. @Steve sold me the parts to get the right hand starter replaced. Thanks again for that.

Ill be through Charleston end of September beginning of October.

The 3-10E i have is right hand start. I also have a 2-10 just like the one you where looking at on ebay. Its a non runner but complete. I dont really think its worth shipping but if we could meet up one day you can have it in your price range.

That brings up the question, what makes a super 2-10 super? Acres lists it as the same c.c. Anyone know what the difference is other than the carb?

They use an walbro sdc carb. Reed style ducted muffler. Small felling spike. Flat style air filter. External carb adjustments. Larger fuel tank. Automatic oiling. DSP valve. Safe t start lever.

These mac 120 scare without bar or chain I wonder if the version of points and condenser will get so high? This saw is the electronic ignition. 13,430 rpm

The story goes Bob McCulloch lost a fortune trying to get into the marine outboard motor industry before dying a few years later.

Here's a happier story. Yesterday my brother Dennis got his McCulloch 125 Kart saw running, for the first time in 30 years.
It's a "Bob Walkerized" built saw from the 1980's.
The flywheel keyway was gone, reason why it sat on the shelf for this long. Last week I gave Dennis a can of valve grinding compound and he successfully lapped the crank stub and flywheel together.

She rips in the 16K rpm range. Its got either a 34 or 36mm Tillotson HR snowmobile carb, balanced and welded crank and the pipe has a inverted stinger inside.
He's 71 now and I don't think he has plans to race again so it might be going up for sale.
Last pic is Dennis running it 30 yrs ago in 1989.

From my information Bob McCulloch made a fortune supplying turbochargers to Detroit and spent much of it trying unsuccessfully to break into outboard motors, buying out Scott- Atwater.
He sold his company to Black and Decker for $65 million in 1973 and died in 1977.
