The duckbill valves for the large frame fuel caps are available from Bob Johnson (607 638 9297) or directly from Elder Rubber Company in Texas, I don't remember if the minimum order is 10 or 20 pieces. I have a few spares as well.

The duckbill valves for the 10 Series fuel caps are the small red ones from the Homelite oiler or the green Poulan ones. I have the numbers written down somewhere if you get stuck.

Thank you for the information, I'll give him a call tomorrow or hit you up for a few. I'm going to need a bunch eventually so a 20 pc order isn't too farfetched.

Tillotson RK88HL, make sure that you get the lever flush with the base of the carb, very picky.

Some good deals on Amazon today if you have Prime. Those kits (OEM) can be fairly pricey otherwise unless you shop around.

Not sure what the hell happened with the zzz's but if you put the # RK88HL in Amazon or Ebay you can find them easily. Yes OEM is a bit more but if you find them as I do in volume deals. Some of the aftermarket kits don't seem to work properly and all but the lever spring is in the OEM kit.

I'm going to need some SP70 parts like a piston and such this fall or winter. Who is a reputable source to buy from?

I hear this jug is common to many Mac saws, idk.

Many parts are common among the 10 series saws. The SP70 uses a later style piston which should be fairly easy to find, but they don't exactly grow on trees providing multiple sources to choose from, either. The IPL lists a 85239 for a standard bore cylinder. Couple on the bay right now for around 70 bux.

That said, the AM piston from LRB may be tempting but has been known to have an unsatisfactory wrist pin fit (sloppy) so you get what you pay for there..., which could be cylinder damage if the pin decides to walk on you. (They're press fit. No circlips.) I've read of better fitment using the original pin should you decide to go that route, fwiw.

Here's an IPL.

85239 fits all 70cc 2in bore saws. It has thin steel rings and a windowed skirt. The only other option is the 85240 piston that was used in the early 10 series like the 4, 5, and 6-10. It was a full skirt thick iron ring piston. 85240 pistons are not very common and if you do find one you have to match the rings to the cylinder as iron bore and chrome bore rings are different.

I only use the 85239 as it is easy (relative) to find and has better performance in my opinion.

Speaking of 70cc piston compatibility, is the 85239 a suitable replacement for a 69030 as well? (as in earlier 6-10 era saws.) Been wondering if the cylinder porting was maybe a little different between the earlier saws with the port hole type window in the piston vs. the later ones (85239) with the open skirts.

According to my reaserch the 85239 superceeds all other 2in 10 series pistons. Including 69030 and 85240.

Still theorizing about why 2broke's 7-10 won't idle with an 85239 in it..., thinking maybe it has an earlier cylinder from say a 6-10 with porting that doesn't like the full open window of the 85239 at idle rpm's.
