I usually weld in the same areas as factory. Maybe make the welds a tad longer.
Be sure not to over heat the crank. I wait a few minutes in between welds.
Thanks Lee will do, I have two 101’s to assemble, but have been a little worried about using the welded style vs the bolt on style 125 crank.

Well first of all why do certain people get a fixation of trying to make 40 year old engine do something it was never designed to do .Anything that runs extremely fast does not run extremely long ./Secondly when it flies apart like a dollar watch where are you going to get the parts ? They don't make them any more .
Now I've seen this *s-word before and I think it's happening again .Ten thousand questions every freakin day in PM's like a stuck record .How fast, what carb, what ignition ,what gasoline can a Mac run 15,000 and on forever .I'm just about to shut it off about one more stupid PM --got it ? Good

Al,

Can I put a bigger carb on my McCulloch PM320? Is there a way to unlimit the coil to 18k?

I'll just PM you.

Later.

Jon, What's a PM320? and the 18K is that 18 carat. Must be one expensive saw.
I meant PM380......and 18,000 RPM.....plus I'm making stuff up.

Edit: I don't know *s-word about *s-word, and stuff, so nobody ever PM's me with questions. So ignorance truly is bliss.

Now seriously I should think if a person wanted some answers regarding a saw they knew or assumed to know nothing about they would put it on the open forum .That way you could get a number of people contributing to the conversation . It makes no sense to have 5 or 6 posts and two dozen PM's talking about the same thing over and over again and getting the same answers .Maybe I'm just a grumpy old fart
It's happened exactly like this on other forums and I never could figure out the reason why .The subject matter is always a McCulloch saw too .I said my piece ------

I'd tell them yes it's all possible with enough money.

I would probably take it as a compliment, to be considered an authority on such a topic.
