Been used many years, still works, 256 with the dolly. Not use it much anymore, since we use the hyd . folding wheel rake. ( note tires are dry rotten )

Yep, that's what my tires looked like. I was scared to put more than 20 pounds in them!

IMO, Run far away from it!!!! Then keep running!!

Just my thoughts!

Get a hyd. double fold wheel rake with a tongue.

That's what everyone says. I guess I'll just have to keep figureing it out on my own.

We have been wanting one but one that isn't beat up and worn out are pricy. Most all our work is for our personal hay.

Steve,( In my opinion ) I would stay away from anything that is three point hitch. I have even gone as far as taking the arms off of my tractors so they can not be hooked up to a three point hitch in most cases. ( pain in the ass )

I agree, getting wetter by the day!! No way to get the hay done now.
I’m gonna try to lay it down Monday. Ground is wet hay is rank. Small window. Hope the equipment works. Corn should’ve been in the ground. Some came up and died. Gotta replant that. Beans should be planted. Hooked grain drill up today gonna try to get rolling full tilt again next week. Hay is about all I can try to do considering how wet the ground is.

I know, I can make a beautiful tight windrow with the 256.

It looks like a 2 year old raked the windrows with my mounted rake! I found that if I put too much down pressure on the mounted rake it would ball up the hay and spit out big globs. I was getting pretty good with it if we were round baling but the windrows where a little too inconsistent for our JD 336 square baler. I haven't used the rake for a few seasons because it was too difficult to use with my Case VAC. I really want to give it a try again on a 4 acre flat and square field we will be doing soon on my new tractor that has position control and power steering!

We were going to try tomorrow, but have over 2 inch's rain this evening, and still raining now. The fields are to wet to drive on without making ruts, The hay will never dry with water standing under it, no matter how many times you run the tedder over it. wettest spring I have seen yet! As stated I will have to replant the corn and sunflowers if ground ever dry enough. Then I worry it will get too dry.

Well I’ve farmed my whole life. Bout all you can do is try yer best. I’m just a click north of you. Dealing with very similar conditions here. It’s a mess. I’ll get it done one way or another. Lil disheartening when you spend thousands of dollars just to see it all drown in a few weeks time. Start again is really my only option. I have places that were under water on top of hills. Doesn’t seem possible but it happened

Again, ask your dealer, you might find a 8 wheel rake cheaper than a NH roller bar rake. I think you can buy a brand new Befco 8 wheel for less than a slightly used New Holland roller bar. I have a Befco 8 wheel hyd. fold rake that I had for years that is set to make rows for the round baler so I don't have to weave. Think I paid around $3.600 brand new in 1994 or 1995. ( Check out tractor house ) or ( machinery Pete )

Very true, water has no where to go now, it is starting to run uphill here, beets anything I have ever seen. $100.00 acre hay fertilizer worked good, but you can't take advantage of it.

edit, People are still missing here from the floods. Simply washed away.

:( you'd think you live in Seattle or something.

We put some hay on the ground today too. They keep moving up the rain on us now. I think we'll be alright unless they move it up another day.
I might roll a few up tomarrow just to feed now. I have 1 bale of hay to my name.
