Much easier for old crippled people like me to hook it up to the tractor, I only have to set the jack stand down and pull the pin and unhook one hydraulic hose. Only takes a few seconds, as compared to trying to hook it up to the 3 point hitch every time. Plus I can hook it to any tractor that I want without a problem. It is also much easier for a lower H P tractor to pull it. And I can pull it on the road with my truck Which is a big plus for me!
Easier on equipment also. 3 point is heavy on rears.

Yes I agree, I think this will be good for us to transport from one county to another. We can also use some of the smaller tractors to pull it if we want. The owner and his wife of ( Stony Point Machine ) from Oklahoma was nice enough to delivery it to me with his own truck and trailer, and helped us hook the mower up to the caddy while he was here. There is only one dealer here in Va. which is not very close to me.

Stony point machine Stilwell ok. edit.

Franklin welding @ equipment, Rocky mount Va. ( dealer )

You guys in the east are getting hammered with rain. That was us last spring. Didn't get our first cutting in till July!

I'm replacing the tires on our NH256 rake. I got a set of R1's because they where a third of the price of the original firestones. When using these on a ground drive do you run them normal or backwards, or it doesn't matter? I've seen alot of ground drive manure spreaders with r1 tires on backwards.

I’d run them backwards. Doesn’t make much difference though

They do it on combines so they last longer. So they say. We mount ours backwards. Only forward for pulling. If it’s being dragged then they go reversed. On a rake I doubt it makes a quarters worth of difference. They’re supposed to wear longer that way.

Thanks, I kinda figured on a rake it wouldn't matter. The ones on there are slicks and only the right side tire does any work right now. Have to replace the dogs in the left side while I have it all apart.

Backwards, if they are not pulling! Forewords if pulling. ( tractor tires ) If on backwards, that means they are trying to get traction to unload the spreader, etc!!

Nice, how do you do hay in the rain? It rains here every day!! Damn good looking hay!! I take you will sell that to horse people.

I cut it in a drizzle, then it rained a little the next day. That afternoon the sun came out. Tedded it the next day, baled the next afternoon. Just caught it right.

It's in the barn for the cows....
