What a shop and what a machine!!!!!
Thank you. Everything looks better when it’s clean. About an hour prior to the picture the shop looked like a gravel pit and the tractor looked like it was the main attraction at a mud slide :roto2lol:

Spring is oh so close !! I’m super pumped to go play with my toys again !! Until then I will be spending about a week in my seed shed sorting seed and getting it ready to be picked up or delivered. I have around 6,500 bags of corn and soybeans to sort though for everyone. The auto-wrapper is new this year and I’m quite excited not to have to walk around each pallet with a hand wrapper anymore !! :dogpile:

Do you handle bulk beans & boxes of corn or just bags ?

My buddy Chase wanted me to run his seed shed & I opted to do the planting & let him do the glad handing & socializing. He sells china seed & Wyffels.

80%+ of the soybeans are in boxes and 20% or so of the corn is in boxes. We have a lot of smaller customers and have actually tried to base our entire business around them as the other guys around here seem to only want to deal with the big guys.

What’s China seed?
As a company Wyffles is a good one but they absolutely source their inbreds from Syngenta, Monsanto and Bayer just like most other smaller seed companies. From my understanding they have a few unique genetic lines that they purchased decades ago that they breed in house but most of the new fresh stuff comes from elsewhere.

I’ve talked to the truckers that bring seed up here and a few have said they have hauled Pioneer/Monsanto/Syngenta seed into Lone Tree, IA when supplies were tight and some smaller seed companies didn’t get the seed production they were hoping for. That stuff gets stuffed into all kinds of different smaller brands bags and sold as their own. I could list a half dozen different companies that sell a version of our 91V51 variety without trying too hard. I have a made a cheat sheet of all the competitive products so I can quickly lookup what I’m quoting against. It gets challenging sometimes lol.

I sell Golden Harvest corn and beans which is a Syngenta brand and likely technically “china corn” lol. I love working for this company and have had a few opportunities to tour the research facilities and talk to the program heads and they’re great people.

I couldn't afford the fuel. Lol
It’s only got a 320 gallon fuel tank. When it’s got its snoot full on the big disc it’ll drink 15-17gal/hr so we get a couple days out of it lol.

Nice !! I assumed turkeys what with the vaulted ceilings. Is it a natural vent barn or do you have exhaust fans ?

Bout 12 or so 48” fans on one end “tunnel ventilation”. These are the neighbors houses. I used to have 2 but they got old and I wasn’t trying to spend a million to keep going.
