Finished my spring grafting of seedling pecan trees to improved cultivars. I’ll post some pictures in a day or two. Last year’s success rate was about 50%.
Any pictures? I bought some pecan seedlings from the TN state nursery about 5 years ago. Only about 3' tall so far.

This is all the farming I care about, so calming to watch them run around.
They do come close to eat out of my hands.
On average, 3 eggs every two days from two females. Not too bad for such a little bird.
And their eggs are yummy!

My Dad I went out to the Lancaster area today, made a stop at the Weaverland Produce and Plant Auction, picked up some nice herbs to sell and some cheap green beans. While I was bidding my dad ran across the to pick up a chute for a corn chopper from a shop there for a friend.

We got some drip tape and plastic rolls at Rain Flo, and finally got 450 Christmas trees up in Weatherly to fill in the gaps this year. Nice trip with the old man, we’ve been doing these PA trips for at least thirty years now with the two of us. It’s basically a day off for the two of us.C37E76B7-1E54-4D7C-8278-C3EE9D6004F3.jpegD3A93EB4-3660-4F77-93B8-17A9567D2EA9.jpegE63363D2-0B67-4FDB-B11F-937102E4D5D6.jpeg
NJ just doesn’t have the depth of ag suppliers like pa and ny. I mean where else can you find some Mennonite machinist who specializes in discbines and also breeds corgis?

I’m in Delaware just south of you. Pa has the at stuff for sure. I may send a tractor or two up there for repair. Decent kid runs a place called antique tractor restoration. Jesse is his name. Got 4-5 bays to work on equipment and I like the guy. Straight shooter.

I didn’t realize they would bolt right up.

I’ve never grown any garlic. I’d love to grow enough to put up to eat. I don’t really know when to start it or how to grow it

I’ve got a predator on my splitter also. So far so good. I run 2 stroke maybe 60:1 in all of them. Got a bunch of transfer pumps for filling sprayer and planter with fertilizer. Haven’t had any carb issues since I started doing that. No ethanol free near enough to me

My buddy Chase has started giving his cattle garlic salt, apparently it’s supposed to help with flys. I walked into the shed the other day & it was like walking into a wall the scent it was so strong.

I think there is around 1 ton of bagged garlic salt on pallets in there.

Around here you plant garlic in the fall. I have a cousin that has a 10’ x 20” garden full of it.

Put one on an old tiller with a few mods. Cranks with a couple of pulls.

My patch of garlic is about 4' x 4' close to 60 pieces, planted last fall early enough to grow some. After planting I placed several inches of straw, suppose to help being further north. It's coming through the straw very well. Will try to get pictures once the rain stops.
