Unrolled my last three round bales into my back pasture. I am now forever done with rounds, unless I ever get cows. Which I won't. Been cleaning up the mess made with the bales in my goat enclosure, no idea how many tons of wasted I have moved to my compost pile. Now I need a manure spreader to utilize this pile.

Sorry, didn't bring my phone to take any pictures.

Help. I've got the Vermeer baler apart. Need a couple of bearings. This bearing is the correct size, Timken G1108KRRB, but it has radiused edges, and the bearings I removed are square on the edges. The outer race drives into the roller, so it needs to be square to have plenty of contact area.

Figured it out. It's a Peer Bearing FHR208-24

Just started. Usually try to start the 1st. Typically try things out last day or so of April to make sure systems are go Anyway weather hasn’t cooperated so just got in the field tonight. Got 25 acres in. Plenty tacky out there still.

I bet those bands are much less expensive than what we're using.
I need to get some before too long, only a few left and they seem to last quite well in the pack they come in. We keep them out of the heat so that will have something to do with it. Local MFA carries them so when I get a little time off I will slip over and pick some up. Applicator was pricey to get, but that is just a farm expense for taxes.

Most of Chases I put on at 34500-35500, I put his neighbors on around 31500 - 32500

My brother & dad usually shoot for 30000-32000.
If I’m planting irrigated I’ll hang out around 28500-32000. I buy corn seed with high flex ears In other words if the weather cooperates they get very big.

I’ve averaged over 200 bushel at 24000. Might be a Delaware thing

Beans I start at 140000 then progressively work my way up to around 160 toward the end of the season.

I told someone once if I moved 100 miles away to different ground farming I’d have no idea what I’m doing lol.

I have tried higher population corn but didn’t have any better luck with it around here. Decided I was washing seed so went back to where I’m at now You guys may just have better soil which may require a denser stand.

I tried it under irrigation too. Couldn’t find any gain with a high flex ear. I’ll try it again this year on a couple rounds. These things are worth checking. I’d be curious to see how lower worked for you for a couple passes.
