Same thing as these smart a$$e$ mounting snow chains on their front tires although their vehicle is RWD, usually beamer drivers!
That,s what happens if you don't watch out when you park, the warm tires melt into the snow pack/ice and your sitting in a hole
Did YOU hide the Duct tape 'n Balin' wire on 'em? Probably a good thing if you did.For reasons unknown, they gave the job of a rear coil spring replacement to a couple of the lubies.
They tried to support the suspension by jacking up under the tire. Which can turn...

I used to have a sack with gravel and a small shovel in the trunk of my RWD car, got me out of snow/ice holes and up driveways numerous times. Also, more weight in the trunk of a RWD helps. That,s what happens if you don't watch out when you park, the warm tires melt into the snow pack/ice and your sitting in a hole
Carry a container of dry concrete powder...
sprinkle it on the drive tires and on the ice and it sucks up all the moisture and you drive out of the holes
Best thing is stop wait a few minutes and back up a few feet.
It is all about the tires. People that live where it snows a lot should have snow tires, which are free. So makes no sense not to have them.I used to have a sack with gravel and a small shovel in the trunk of my RWD car, got me out of snow/ice holes and up driveways numerous times. Didn't have the need for any of that in my front wheel drive car, although this car is lighter and wears better winter tires - that helps a lot!
Free snow tires? Screws in the tread? It is all about the tires. People that live where it snows a lot should have snow tires, which are free. So makes no sense not to have them.
What do you mean by free snow tires? It is all about the tires. People that live where it snows a lot should have snow tires, which are free. So makes no sense not to have them.
Ok, so not free as in beer, but if your regular tires need replacing every 5 years, it means in 10 years you will have purchased two sets of tires. If you buy snow tires, you use them half the time, so your tires last 10 years. So you end up buying the same amount of tires, so no change in cost. Plus, you have snow tires, which are awesome in the snow. I should sell snow tires for a living. LolWhat do you mean by free snow tires?
That sounds good on paper, but around here, on my truck, the last 3 sets of tires only lasted 11-12 months. So I always just put new on in October.. Current set is going to make it 2 years, and were worth the extra price. There are very few people around here in rural MN that buy specific snow tires.Ok, so not free as in beer, but if your regular tires need replacing every 5 years, it means in 10 years you will have purchased two sets of tires. Edit: As an added financial bonus, if you buy the tires now, in 5 years the price of tires will have gone up, so you beat inflation too.
Unless you have driven with snow tires, you can't appreciate the amount of grip they afford. I dominated an Audi club winter driving event in a four cylinder 3 series bmw with snow tires. They truly make a difference. The policy still stands, your tires will still last twice as long if you use them half the time. That sounds good on paper, but around here, on my truck, the last 3 sets of tires only lasted 11-12 months.
