I tore down my wild thing today as planned in the quest for more power. The ring was not quite fully seated, expected. I haven't decided how wild I will go with this turd.

It throws chips fast and sounds great! Mine is barely running at this point!


I was thinking, couldn’t we standardize the wood a bit? Maybe stack 2 8x8s on top of each other? Or strap two 6x6s side by side? It’s a crude yardstick but timed cuts help me learn.

Timed cuts are a Pandora's box lol eg- I hit a knot or my chain was way dull and in need of a rub after smoking every saw at the last GTG 3 years ago! I slipped and put to much pressure on the dog's! or the gearing was wrong for the unexpectedly warm weather blah blah blah lol

Did you fill the counterweights with lead for smoother running, or just going to lighten them?

I had one with comp in the high 150s, it was hard on the starter.
