Part's, part's, part's...
IMG_20210306_224530019.jpg

It took a few to make it like new for all of yoIMG_20210309_001317977_HDR.jpg

I guess the oddest thing is that the cylinder is not plated, the replacement piston however is. Which seems ok right up until I placed the ring on it, then it doesn't seem so smart. Otherwise a fairly simple affair to work on. Seeing it wasn't heirloom quality, I confess to admitting that I didn't waste a lot of time porting it and pretty much winged it and said it was good enough for whom it was for. As I can't say I like planned obselences like this. There were other things to like about the little goomer, enough to get me through to the completion of the thing of wild.
Test and tune today. :)

How would the ring not tear up the bare aluminum cylinder?

Ding, ding, ding!
A lot of homeowner engines even four strokes like Briggs and Honda etc. are like this. It's part of the EPA rating system if the engine will only last so long I believe or something like that.
The bottom end was full of aluminum powder/dust and why I put new bearings in the thing seeing that it lean burned up in the first place.
Cylinder is also made with an alloy, so it's a bit tougher than regular aluminum.
The old one had the H gun sight logo on it, the new one had U-SKILL cast into it. The new piston however had the H gun sight logo on the underside of it.

Well... besides being a deep subject, I did manage to get the purple people eater saw running yesterday, although not well. The idle screw was jacked way forward causing a high idle, (another sign of a forced death) once that was corrected, was impossible to tune to run correctly. A new carbeltater will have to be acquired, good news they are back available, now to just get it in time...

4 stroke saw from Lowes for next winter? :crazylick:

And they have to run on propane! Bonus points for the best 20# tank backpack! More bonus points if you use woodgas instead! Triple bonus points if the whole rig catches on fire and you get it on video!
