Stihl Hexa file and sawchain

Hey buddy, I thought that looked weird. Afaik thats a file for square filing not stihl hexa.
Hexa file should be an even sided 60 degree file with two smooth sides without cutters wich you lay flat against the gullet.

I tested my loop briefly. Grabby starting the cut and trying to clean a face. Didn’t seem fast. Ok in the cut?
I think the only big advantage is easier filing for newbs.

Just had a check over here and the chain and files are pretty pricey

3/8 063 hexa chain per DL £ 00.38 +tax
1 x hexa file £8.64+tax

Nothing new from Stihl, money milking!
They are "Apple" in the OPE business.

They do have good stuff, but most of it is atrociously overpriced IMHO.

But, each to their own.

It cuts well it’s main feature is the easier sharpening because the file holds itself at the proper hight on tooth because of the way the file rides on top of chain chassis.

The angles are not thin/delicate
