Well, I guess the next step is to rob parts from the China 660...
I had to clearance the case mainly in this area, as well as further inside on the left to clear the gast tank. I didn't want to bastardize the case too much... this way I can always convert it back to a 460. So I opted to cut a hole in the orange plastic to clear the ear for the upper left mount. I had to grind a pieces off of the front of the tank, I'll show those area once I pull the tank back off. The front mount im.going to run a bolt through with bushings, I'll show why in the next few pics after these.

We got it mostly buttoned up. The muffler doesn't sit how I like it but, I'll probably make a mount similar to a Husqvarna.

The carb definitely needs to be tweaked... I'm thinking I don't need much on the L and H... it seems like it has instant power/torque or is it too restricted??? Only one way to find out... none of the ports were touched so there's something to be gained there (I think)... idk if I want to lower the squish... we're sitting at .035" now and it has a decent pop (compression)... I definitely think the muffler is choking/holding it back...
I'll have to cut-up and put together some top covers so I can get air across the fins...
Though, I can say this saw feel smooth in the hands... 🤷‍♂️

Nothing to really show at this point. The full wrap fits nicely. I'll have to figure out a top cover though... I'm thinking tomorrow I'll see what I can figure out. 🤔

I decided monkeying around with modifying the plastic covers wasn't going to work. I ended up digging out a scrap piece of white aluminum from the racecar and I starter laying out the cover.

The 660 top cover was close, but it needed more length and mounting points like the 460 cover.

I had to make 1/2" long spacers for the left side of the cover... I used aluminum and machined it down to .350" OD and drill the through hole to .210"

The bend on the Left side was a bit off... in the last picture, I semi corrected it.. if anything, I have a solid template to make a finished product. Don't mind the stickers, they were left over from when I built a couple racecars.
The red lines are the areas I needed to trim.

Question for you guys... I want to do a cut comparisons between the 56mm, 54mm and a 52mm setup... with that, is there a pin bearing that fits into Husky rod but also allows a 12mm pin? I can't seem to find anything...
I might be forced to ream a piston or two.
But I also need to find a 52mm piston that has a Short Compression height.

Incredible work Rich, I wish I understood more of what you are doing. But then I'd have to learn new things and I don't have that much space left on the old hard drive...

Mark
Thanks Mark. I totally understand. I'm slowly getting to that point. Ahaha
