Does It idle 99% of the time it's running ?

I've ran it anywhere from 40-60:1 depending on who mixed the gas in both stock and ported saws..maybe even more or less and I can't say I've ever seen that happen.

I let the 362 idle while cutting or for a few minutes after making extended cuts or when I am moving branches. Ported makita 7900 doesn't have near as much.

I'm going to clean the 362 muffler when I get into the saber and see what happens.

I never do things like this..

But I've been running my 400 a good bit the last few weeks and I'm gonna take the muffler cover off and see how wet the inside of the muffler is, I try to let these mtron saws idle for 10 seconds or so if possible after I use them..but usually not.

If it's wet enough I'm gonna use it for a blow torch and kill mosquitoes tonight.

I don’t have a 400 or any good stihl saws but just curious

As far as the red armor goes I run a little leaner than a lot of guys. Maybe that helps.
I found my plugs getting fouled and stuff if they blubber too much.

I tried the benol also myself. Didn’t like it when it got cold outside. Stuff wouldn’t run right

I'll never understand what makes people run benol in a chainsaw.

But I guess it's not for me to understand.

So what’s that just kinda ridged it up a little?

I like a smooth AV, but not a system that feels like a threesome with 2 fat chicks in a half ton.

I even beef up my small saws. I put rubbers instead of foam in all my saws, I even took a buffer from a WCS kit and used it on the flywheel side of my 261s and 661s..makes a big difference when the saw is on it's side, doesn't feel like a diving board on the bar.

Personal preference.
