It will run the 08 is a tough ass saw, well will run and work long as you have all the parts.

I did notice while taking this one apart that the air vane mechanism is all missing, or did they not equip the cut off saw with the air vane/choke governor?

I have the ipls for them at home but that’s a newer one and if it’s electronic ignition it’s limited rpm by the coil. Same as the newer 08s chainsaws with electronic ignition. Some of those saws had the sem ignition that’s the same as the 056 and they had a habit of failing.

Not sure if this helps, but I rebuilt a ts360 (same engine, cases, etc but different plastics and air filter) and it didn’t have the air vane governor.
