Local safety council meeting this morning. City fire cheif told us a story about a battery bus at the big airport. Ended up placing the battery into a giant tub of water. That's only half the problem as they all looked at each other asking 'what do we do with it now?' Potential to re-ignite if taken out of the water. Where does one discard a one ton hulk of a half burnt/burning battery?

Things like this are why I am Luddite. They create all this new stuff without ever considering/mitigating the negatives until we are plagued with them.

Saw this so I figured why not go for it at 9pm on a work night. Ended up in an alley in Reading Pa after I put the address in wrong. At least I drove the civic so I blended in.

My moms car is on its winter tire set now too.
As far as I am concerned, winter can come as harsh as it wants now.

Changed my cars tires and never drove the car this summer back to winters soon as the truck that I drive for the summer has heater issues

Went to town to power wash the two sommer tire sets, got cought by rain.

There is some sort of irony in that.

My moms cars summer tires are winter stored.

Mine were still wet being the bottom ones in the trailer after power washing (15" vs 14") so I will bag & stash them tomorrow or whenever this upcoming weekend.

Fixed up the driveway at the lake cabin. Cut a flat spot next to the deck for fire pit area. Cut a pad for the sauna. Put some cool steps in.

Got a few things done today. Upgraded the bigger solar generator inverter. Double the watts plus surge capability now and it has a 120v hardwire block so i can tie it into the fuse panel if i want. Have had excellent luck with voltworks. The smaller solar generator now has the 1500w inverter. Back in July into August, i put up a 16x24 building with 12ft ceiling that in the spring, I'll be pouring the concrete and installing a 2 post lift. Getting older and rolling around in gravel to work on my junk is not working out so well anymore. Also planning to put a 24x24 with 8ft ceiling off the side of this new building at some point. HF had a sale on led lights recently so i bought a bunch and got them hung today.

We butchered a huge 8 point buck we found at the end of our driveway! One back quarter was mashed but the rest was good. Whoever it was just drove off because the police said no one reported it and we were free to keep it. It was one of those once in a lifetime deer!

This tree had already dropped 2 sections of it's crown in the breezes, so it was overdue to come down.

Just some of the tree, didn't have time to drop and cleanup the bottom 25'.

Having pallet forks for the new to me tractor made this a possibility for this getting old fart.
