HPV is the virus. Can also cause cervical cancer in women. Gardasil is the brand name for the vaccine. Girls and boys should be vaccinated usually between age 9 and 13. A majority of the population has this virus and will never know.

I knew that HPV can cause warts and very rarely also cervical cancer. I had no idea about mouth cancer too.. .
From what I understand it can cuase cancer just about anywhere, I actually got vaccinated for it 2-2.5 years ago when I started down the path of confronting cancer. My cancer is caused by dipping tobacco, as my tests for HPV came back negative.

Helped my Pops clean off his highly congested country back porch today.
Old books, rusty lawn chairs, tattered boxes, etc, etc, ideal nesting spots for various pestilence.
Much to our dismay an old VHS cabinet held an alarming amount Red Wasp!
Things got rather interesting after that.
I killed about 20 via Raid Bug spray & continual stomping.:laser-kill::elefant:
Me & Pa - 20
Red Wasp- 0

Later that day while admiring our handiwork, Pa and I were subject to a Blitzkrieg by a swarm of unusually swift, demonic, and highly agile Yellow-Jackets!
We didn't fare near as well in our engagement with them.:crybaby2:
Dad was stung on the forehead & I was smitten on the left earlobe and right paw!:qmiedo::icon_domokun:
Me & Pa - 0
Yellow Jackets - 3

My final stunt of the day was 2 Fire Ant bites to my back & side!
Although somewhat anti-climatic the ants produced a certain dimension of pain while extracting their "pound of flesh!":sisi3:
Me - 0
Fire Ants -2:cursing2:

Needless to say, after ibuprofen, pain meds, and Pa's incessant Google search of lethal flying insects, I was less than motivated to do my usual firewood scrounging!:shakehead:
I had spotted a 10-12 ft muscle-wood log chilling in a ravine, along with a couple seasoned black locust sticks.

Later for that.#KINGofPAIN

I had not been stung by anything in over a decade, and last year I got tagged 3 times and this year I've been tagged 4 times so far!

One of the ones this year got me just after I got done testing my brother's MS460 (I tuned it up). I still had my ear muffs on and it got under my eyeglasses and stung me on my eyelid as I ripped the earmuffs and glasses off. My eye was swollen for 3 days!

I finished putting the new siding (primed yellow) on the front of the house today. These pics (at Jeff's request) were taken in the AM before I was finished.

I pull the sheets right from my PU Truck onto my trailer work bench for cutting.

I was working alone, so I screw a temporary 2 X 4 shelf into the trim, then haul the siding up with a rope and pully. I used the S hook to hold it up there by putting it thru a ladder rung.

Took a lot of time, but got it done! Now I just have to caulk and stain it, and put the shutters back up.

Antique outboard motor club meet today with my girlfriend. 1958 Evinrude 18 hp ran like a Swiss watch. Picked up a new project too, a 1941 Evinrude 2 hp for the massive sum of $15.

How duh heck did ya blow toenail?

I've got short, wide feet, with high arches, so it's always been danged hard for me to ever find a pair of shoes that my toes would hit the end.
Last summer, I found a pair that are wide enough to get my toes fully into the toe box.
First day I wore them this summer, I drank lots of water in an effort to try reducing some cramping~spasms that seem to appear when the yard work is nearly over.
Well my wonderful, aging, body decided to store the water in my frikin feet of course.
After a while it began to cause my big toenails to catch randomly.
I pulled the insoles out and swapped them for something thinner and cut back on the water intake while mowing.
I can't imagine trying to run in them ( ha. knees are gone anyway) with the reduced insoles or even walking, much, on hard dirt, but the grassy yard seems tolerable to walk in them while chasing a mower.
That could change for the worse though.
