I completed the 4th round trip hauling my stuff to the new place, I have made multiple trips using the Yreka to O'Brien route, the Fall colors are fantastic. I hope Grayback stays open until I'm done, 2-3 more trips to go. The old F150 is earning its keep.

Those bugs are ruthless! They don't descriminate either.

I didn't cut anything today but did spend some time with Groundi cleaning up the wood yard. It was 80 degrees and muggy today but we had a fire going 2 days ago. So it's that time of year... I've got a tree I need to chip up that we cut the other day. Blow down with about 25' of stem still in the air. It's an oak so we'll chip everything that fits and bring the rest home for firewood. (the landowner wants the chips). I'm still jet lagged from a 16 day trip to Africa but enjoying the much cooler weather.

Enjoy your trip, what is the purpose?

We have had a few Fall days up here, even 2 or 3 in the 30s in the AM, then hot again. Sept was a dry month, but we got a little rain in the end, and predicted again tomorrow, followed by cooling. We will see.
The purpose of the trip was to help a mission group change some buildings to different purposes. ie, changed a studio into a classroom/conference room. Changed offices into guest housing and changed some other spaces into offices. So it was all construction related. This took place in Niger.

I went to an event this weekend, had a good time. I had my 084 on alcohol and had an issue. It seemed to have run out of fuel after the first cut. No harm to the saw, just not able to make 3 cuts in a row just yet in 16" white pine. It is restricted at the needle and seat, or needs another fuel pump added. Everyone else had bike saws and a little kid came up to me as I was flushing out the alcohol..."hey mister! Where is your big saw at"? :(

Ouch, kicked right in the nards.

Talked to an owner/operator of a fairly large tree service today.
He does good work but only knows how to operate machinery IMO.
He climbs and runs saws with his crew.

He has an early 261C that runs/works great on the ground but if he takes it up a tree or in the bucket about 50' it acts up, doesnt run right.
Stihl says to make 3 cuts and it should work right.

This doesn't sound right to me.
Don't know if i believe him or what the dealer is telling him.
I have not seen this saw myself but his other equipment looks fairly good, clean, and not abused.
Anybody heard of this kind of issue?
