And not even setting low in the backHoly smokes that's a load!!!!!!
Are you using dish soap for bar oil? That HDPE is rough on a chain from what I've experienced.Did some saw work at work today. I cut around 1000 feet of 42" HDPE pipe into 50 foot segments. I used my Rattler 288 with 28" bar. This stuff is hard and funky to cut.

Created a new clusterfuck.
Now I can valve out the electric hot water tank during a power outage and turn on the propane for tank less.
Also can do it if I have a lot of guests and can run the tank less into tank to prevent from cooling down the water in tank.
Also moved the booster pump off the wall so it won't send the vibrations up the 2x4s. Installed a mesh filter after the pump incase one grenades again and it won't mess up tank less heater.

Becuase I run off a propane tank not NG. So the cost of running it is a bit up there. Plus in the next few years I want to get solar panels and take the lighting load and electronics off the main power bill. So it would leave only the heavy load items on the grid. I.e. Heat pumps, oven, etc.Interesting. Those tankless water heaters are pretty expensive from my understanding. Curious why you wouldn't run it full time to take full advantage of the higher efficiency? I do like the sound of a hybrid system for the ultimate in high capacity though.
Just regular bar oil and yes it seams very hard on the bar and chain. The wall of that 42" pipe is 2" of solid hard plastic. Are you using dish soap for bar oil? That HDPE is rough on a chain from what I've experienced.
