There is some vintage saws ( sorry can't remember the brand) where the air box is pressurized by the flywheel fan , which does resemble a centrifugal supercharger wheel.
How well it works is probably debatable but they do exist.
I imagine it would be wicked on a reed valve homelite!

Hello! Has anyone done a modification to a Stihl 056 Magnum muffler? Looking for a few ideas for the front. The original design isn't really inspiring the addition of round pipes or tubes. This would be on the lower half, where the top cover cut out is.
Thanks!
After a few attempts with round pipes, square pipes, and all sorts of odd protrusions, this seems to be the answer. Looks good, sounds great, and doesn't hit anything. The 056 is a very "square" saw, so anything round didn't look right. Stock mufflers tend to be fairly bashed up, and decent covers are hard to come by. This fixed a few problems in a close to stock look.
This is on an early 056 Super, without the factory side pipe.

R.

First time trying Mapp and silver solder with a Dukes medium wide deflector. I used to use bronze brazing rods but haven’t had good luck using it lately. This came out great though. Husqvarna 346xp.
Is that using the standard tip, or is there a soldering tip for the Mapp?

I have a burner like this, only with a small thread for cans that are more popular in Europe / I'll see what the symbol is/ German but looks the same. The Chinese also learned to produce them 😉
