Well how's it sound? How does it compare to the ones that have an outlet on the other side that needs the top cover trimmed?
Didn’t run it yet. I’ve got 2 boxes full of 394/5 carcasses but apparently no effing muffler nuts

I don't. They're fairly time consuming. I just make them for personal saws at this point.
Do you have detailed pics of how you made it? If I have pictures I could probably make one here. Looks like a fun project

I kind of like the patina/rust look. Interesting to see how much hotter the bottom of the weld got when I ran it.

After black Ceracoat. Considering the spikes I should have put the second pipe higher.
Easy fix, take off the oversized dumb spikes! I’m afraid I’ll never understand, even in softwood they’re excessive lol

We do a lot of large cottonwood. 4” deep bark and near horizontal root flares. I agree they’re over the top for the average tree and downright dangerous for climbing. I wish they were retractable.

Too loud..

The pipes go in about 1”. It’s not the loudest saw I’ve run. Shifting the outlets back and to the side really helps. I have a 2172 with a 1-3/4” outlet in the front. THAT one is loud. I did this muffler up to swap in. Gotta re-paint it though. It’s got some chinesium finish that my primer doesn’t stick to.
