I'd put one on the outside too. I was just thinking last night how I could put an outlet on the front of a 660 muffler without the heat softening the metal. That inner deflector may be the key.

Funny this popped up, I have my 3120 muffler on the bench. Would you be willing to show the other side of the muffler? (Opposite of the factory outlet side) Best guess from the photo, you just cut the area out where the support is spot welded in & then seal it back up? Thanks in advance for any info.

Those little slots in that pipe are the only places that the exhaust can escape thru.

Funny this popped up, I have my 3120 muffler on the bench. Would you be willing to show the other side of the muffler? (Opposite of the factory outlet side) Best guess from the photo, you just cut the area out where the support is spot welded in & then seal it back up? Thanks in advance for any info.

Your guess is dead on. It's more than spot welded though. Brazed solid. So I cut a rectangle out where that support is attached on the side, and other on the bottom. I'll post more pictures tomorrow.
