They all hum good. Nice work! Chasing that tunes a *b-word hu, with those oversized carbs. 1/8-to 1/4 that's PIA.

Did you make it out past 3/8 with stiffer spring?

Speaking of carbs did you see anything interesting with that Bing carb yet?

Your exhaust roof looks really square. Did you raise it?

Those jugs come in with a high exhaust anyway. Sanding the piston ain't gonna help that...

I did raise the ports a little, trying to bring everything up as much as I lowered the cylinder , the piston was cut because it was hitting the inside of the head, not to change port timing.
The cylinder base has been cut down a bunch , and I'm deleting the base gasket.

What is your squish set at?

With the farmertec cylinder out of the box, without a gasket, it was .020"
As of now , I haven't measured yet.
How close is too close?

I plan on a few fit and trims on the piston before it runs again. Right now, I just cut enough off the piston to let the motor turn over.

.020 squish is what most consider safe. Probably stick with that on the aftermarket jug.

Can you get some timing numbers on the farmertec jug?

I love the idle on these big huskies! I think I'll run mine today...

In going to do the same. Gonna go camping, and hopefully get some cutting done. Fire season is pretty high here, so may not get to fire the saws up much.
Gonna go camping on a family friends ranch, where the owner just had double knee replacement 3 weeks ago. Figured I'd take the fam up there, and my son and I can give him some help to get caught up over the weekend.
