Why do people frown on raising exhausts ? i just cleaned up/squared up the ports on an 036 once ,deleted the base gasket ,raised the exhaust a little over a millimeter and it ran stronger compared to when was stock ,ran a 28 inch bar on that saw ,Less than 200lbs and a high exhaust.
I don't know but it's almost taboo,I use to try and run a super low exhaust because I thought it gave me tourqe,I have certainly changed my thinking on this. Why do people frown on raising exhausts ? i just cleaned up/squared up the ports on an 036 once ,deleted the base gasket ,raised the exhaust a little over a millimeter and it ran stronger compared to when was stock ,ran a 28 inch bar on that saw ,
The i had 036 did rev a little higher ,sounded good for a baby saw ,Raising the exhaust moves the power up in the rpm,to me the fastest saws will make the most power at a higher rpm which turns the chain faster and that's what it's about
