I went to my parents place today to find some wood to test out a couple saws.
Found this old dead chunk of termite filled dirt laying across a fence, so we decided to test the saw out on it, turning it into firewood and fixing the fence as well.

Here is the 064 I just rebuilt on the go.
Damn its got some go! Its going to take some courage to sell it.

Cant wait to get mine done with the 660/288 combo....... one day.

Please turn down your screen brightness, it may reduce the burn from the reflections off my bald head :)
I forgot my hat which is usually glued to my head every time I leave the house.
I have to say I was REALLY impressed with the torque the 064 had.
My head is the same.
064 is my favorite saw

Its odd..... it just seems to work, to the point of making an 066 look nervous.

really nervous.

before I go advertising it, I think I will check the timing. If its spectacular, I may keep the top end.

I was really jamming it into that old hard dead wood and it just ate it. I was waiting for the revs to drop but it didnt have any issue with pressure on the chain, to the point it stretched the sheit out of the chain in half a tank of fuel

It has a really thin base though.
I may keep the OEM top end, it was really strong and I am keeping the 2nd 064 I got as a play/build toy.

Can we buy Meteor cylinders yet?

I have a aftermarket one I'm gonna try.

064 cylinders are timed very good.

Can the Meteor ones be purchased yet?
I can get a cheap nasty 066/660 Chinese top end for it to sell it, but the thought of that kind of grinds on my morals

That 064 was running with limited coil, the original rings that are close to needing changing and factory gasket with squish not even touching .030 solder

Tuesday base Is thin but you don't have to lower it to get the exhaust down so 020 from the base will be enough for compression.
Is it a mahle or ks?
All of the 064 cylinders will have good timing

I'm gonna head to the shop and degree a mahle and a ks and the aftermarket one I have that looks great and has a very thick base so hopefully it's timed well.
