I haven't personally touch, held,or run a new 261. But from the vids it looks a Lil bulky shaped, but think stihl hit the sweet spot with the 261 stock to stock I think it will smoke the oh26 260 pro

It is wider than an 026 and a hair heavier. Everything else about the saw makes up for that. The V2.0 MS 261 may be about the same weight as an 026.

How is the 261 different from the 260 other than the obvious slightly larger piston and Mtronic carb?
It is a completely different saw from the 260. It is a strato saw, spring AV, and has better filtration. It is a high RPM saw but has great torque for its size.

261 has quad transfers and can be had in standard carb.

PSE=Personal Safety Equipment

No gloves, glasses, hearing protection or even boots.

If she were to let go, you don't have a fighting chance.

My dad has not sent me an email in years but today he did.
Here is the content:

As we move into retirement,

we need to keep ourselves occupied with small projects.

Like this guy!

As we age, we often get careless about safety issues

I know, I saw it right away too....

No safety glasses or hearing protection.

And I caught something else that is really important:

He has no gloves on.

I might be up in age but I am still sharp as a tack.

We need to stay alert for dangers.

Stay safe.

Yea Brewz, I was gonna compliment you on those steel toe safety shoes, but I see there is no need!

I don't wear chaps, they just were not around when I got started, but always eyes, ears, gloves & boots ... always. You just don't know when something is going to happen. You can just be piss revving and loose a chain, stuff happens.

I do usually wear some heavy duty canvas paints, and sometimes double layer. It is not chaps, but is a lot tougher than skin!

The 2 things you need to have in the woods here that will save your life is a hard hat and ear plugs.

Don't matter how quiet your saw is or loud the ear plugs ain't for it,there so it drowns out noise so you can hear the skidder. Getting cut won't generally kill you but having a skid of logs pulled over you or being hit in the head by a limb can and will.

Everyone I know is a logger and none have chaps, not saying they shouldn't just they don't. I tried them once but in the summer there to hot.

Time for chaps, too!
Someone will post up the canvas results.
Don't use this to stop saw chain at 9,000-15,000 rpm's.
Not my finger!

Gee whiz!! Look, I'm a guy who can feed the cows then go stand in cow poo out by the gate and eat a steak while I watch them eat and that picture still about made me puke.
