I haven't personally touch,held,or run a new 261. But from the vids it looks a Lil bulky shaped, but think stihl hit the sweet spot with the 261 stock to stock I think it will smoke the oh26 260 proMS 261 CM 3/8 chain

How is the 261 different from the 260 other than the obvious slightly larger piston and Mtronic carb?
It is a completely different saw from the 260. It is a strato saw, spring AV, and has better filtration. It is a high RPM saw but has great torque for its size.
PSE=Personal Safety Equipment
No gloves, glasses, hearing protection or even boots.
If she were to let go, you don't have a fighting chance.
The 2 things you need to have in the woods here that will save your life is a hard hat and ear plugs.Yea Brewz, I was gonna compliment you on those steel toe safety shoes, but I see there is no need!
I don't wear chaps, they just were not around when I got started, but always eyes, ears, gloves & boots ... always. You just don't know when something is going to happen. You can just be piss revving and loose a chain, stuff happens.
I do usually wear some heavy duty canvas paints, and sometimes double layer. It is not chaps, but is a lot tougher than skin!
Time for chaps, too!
Someone will post up the canvas results.
Don't use this to stop saw chain at 9,000-15,000 rpm's.
Not my finger!
