Siz wheel time. Lol
You try it on a dead ash, please post the video:detenido:.
Do you know how they work?
Wish I had one of this guy. Also used a snap cut for the back cut and pulled it to the lay with the skidding winch on my tractor. The next one was a bit more of an issue to get off it's lean, both had canopies open to the power lines, but the second was a bit heavy, you can see the lean. The siz-wheel was to get it out away from the large white pine it would have landed in(can be seen to the left in the second pic) pulling it 180 to the lean.

I am no faller; is there a technical reason a person would wedge over a leaner?
Yup...two reasons on that one, tree's are thick there and to pull it out I had to line it up with a "path" where it can slid out without binding between other tree's. And second didn't want a tree that big to hang on tree, not getting to the ground. There are others but making it possible to extract and not hanging in other trees was the primary two reasons. Not sure if I showed even than I had to use a snatch block to move it a little around a tree. Can't just randomly let trees drop, have to build a plan for harvesting or the amount of work just triples. So I always drop them to where I can pull them out if at all possible without having to cut another pile of trees for access.

If you left a hinge that thick on a white ash here it would split like a mfer.
