He has 2. The original one that took a crap took another after it was hobbled back together. Was half expected.

The other I did for him is fine.
The other one is more than fine... She absolutely rips Al! That is the one that was based on the 440 you had at one time Jeff. Always a blast to run.

Mopar 395, there really is no substitute when you just gotta get it done. Not a glamour saw. Damn thing will pull through the brake, that’s what slowed it in first cut.

Not the greatest vidjia, but it illustrates why a ported 395 is really “the king”. Pulling 36” of .404 semi chisel with an 8 pin is no easy task.

Had that issue on my JMS394 a few times too with the brake. had to replace the band and clean the cover out and it seemed to fix it.

394/395 are strong saws no doubt.

Would be easier on the clutch and be a little easier to run if you switched to 7 pin .404. I didn’t like 8 pin .404 even on a 123cc 125 mac. But 395’s are very strong saws no doubting that.

I've had to grind on the knuckle joint of some 394/5's brakes that where a little to easy to engage. Just a little grinding on the finger so it will go slightly more over center.

I have tried 8pin 404 few times have never liked it 7 pin calms the chain down and let's it do it's thing more efficient that's with working type chain. 8pin 404 is like 9pin in 3/8.
I don't know anything about race saw's race chain 10pins and all that magic.

This is my MS 460 cutting some dry stringy 20" b c .404 semi .
Love this saw , haven't been using it much lately as I have been working on the 461 .
Cheers .

That's what ya call an efficient setup for cutting Aussie firewood.
046 is the smallest firewood saw ya see around here I'm in QLD and yep they all run 20inch bars some 3/8 but the smart ones run .404
