I got this cylinder on trade from another ope member. He got it like this. It is exactly as I expected but I still don't get it.... why would someone try to tap an impulse hole? Lol

Could just leave it in there and drill a transfer port and stick a barbed fitting in it. Plug the carb and use a cover with the impulse on it

They make such a thing as a four prong tap extractor. Looks like just the ticket. Price is the kicker.

You can get that out real easy with a tig welder. Weld onto it, the aluminum with contract at a different rate. Grab the weld with pliers and unthread.

Clearly just a mistake.

Sometimes all you can say to yourself is, be glad they did, or I wouldn't have ended up with it. Some of the stuff you see does make a guy wonder though. Small center punch struck at an angle might back that out enough to grab holt of it. Congrats on the new cylinder. Good luck with it.

The original nopple broke and someone tried to ap it to except a threaded nipple?
I would lay a nut over he hole an hit it with the mig gun and weld the tap to the nut and back it out with a wrench .

The tap is hardened steel ,if one breaks of in a car cylinder head ,i just smack it with a center punch and they break apart and come out in little pieces .Not sure if a weld will stick to that or not ?
