Considering getting a roll of 3/8 x 050.
Stihl RM is jumpy when burying a 24" bar in knotty hardwood and I'm almost out of my old Homelite semi-chisel that is fabulous.
Would just get a roll of RS but the price is a bit salty.

I’m hoping it’s a little better than Stihl RM but not expecting it to be quite as good as RS.
RS around me is over $400.00 for a 100’ roll.
Ouch!!
Holy moly that seems really expensive!!! Im sure it costs less than buying loops separate but just hearing that sounds alarming

Why is this chain so popular? Has it been pre stretched?
It is very aggressive, razor sharp out of the box and seems to hold an edge for quite some time. The gullet has an interesting shape, it cuts quickly but most of all it's quite smooth.

It truly is. I loved rsc the most for the longest time but this might take the cake for "round" file chain.

RSC sucked compared to RSK. I kept buying Oregon when stihl went to all comfort chassis takers and a narrower gullet. I’d like to try this husky cabin just to see how it does. The only saw I have .050” bars is my 346 on a 16”.

Perhaps, ask for the C83 specifically. The oregon EXL is also nice.

I never tried the EXL.

The RS is not smooth when set up aggressive imo. If only more boxes of the old Carlton chisel just showed up that would be sweet. Saved my last two 72dl new loops for toy chain.

I like smooth 3/8 050. 404 don't matter.

So when you guys buy a roll if 100’ c85 does it come with a whole bunch of gold links? I think the gold link is a great idea for finding your starting point when sharpening chain.
